In this example, a line of three blocks fills the gap in the bottom row, so the game highlights the row: it will clear when you release the piece.
The board has 8 rows and 8 columns, and the tray below it holds three pieces. When all three are placed, three new ones appear. On a phone, a dragged piece floats a little above your finger, and a shadow on the board shows where it will land. You can also tap a piece and then tap a square. Pieces never rotate. The How to Play page explains every control, with more examples.
Our version of Block Blast
The game on this page is our own version of the block puzzle, written from scratch for this site. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to install, no account and no cost. Your game is saved after every move, and you can pause at any time.
How points are counted
Every block you place is worth 1 point, so a piece of four blocks gives 4 points. Clearing lines gives much more, and several lines at once pay best:
| Lines cleared with one piece | Points |
|---|---|
| 1 | 10 |
| 2 | 40 |
| 3 | 90 |
| 4 | 160 |
If you clear lines again within your next three pieces, you build a combo. The second clearing move in a row doubles its line points, the third triples them, and so on, up to eight times. If you place three pieces in a row without clearing anything, the combo ends. Empty the whole board and you also get a bonus of 300 points. The scoring guide has all the tables and step-by-step examples.
